« on: June 23, 2012, 12:32:08 PM »
I am considering a 1911. I  am looking at the Remington, Ruger, or Springfield. Which one would most like provide the best reliability and accuracy?
Thanks.

The Ruger, hands down!

After reading hundreds of reviews over the last two years, from buyers of new 1911s.  I would recommend that you Google "Ruger 1911 pistol reviews", and take a short cut.

I just recommended this pistol to a buddy of mine recently.  Last week he brought it to my house and showed it to me.  I was jealous.  I still love my Colt, but what a great time to be buying a new 1911.

True and pure 1911:  No series 80, or any other kind of lawyer crap.

Ruger:  Engineering excellence:
If needed:  Ruger customer service excellence.

I would go with either the Ruger or Springfield. I like the looks of the Ruger and the price!

I've only seen one of the Ruger 1911s at the range, but for the price I was impressed. Springfield also has some nice pistols in their mid range line. Know even less about the Remington. Last thing I need is another 1911, but if I were looking for one in that price range, I'd consider the Ruger.

To me it depends on what your looking for and how much you want to spend on it to buy it and then spend on it to add some goodies too it.
1.  A no frills, no bells or whistles basic 1911 in park finish   I'd suggest the springfield armory, USGI / mil spec what ever they call it now it seems to change with every run. In this catagory i'd throw in the auto ordnance army WW2 copy 1911 in park also. These are a step above the bottom of the barrel price and quality wise.
2.  A step up would be the springfield loaded,   thompson custom,  colt 1911  ect.
Remember all the SA's and colts have forged frames and slides. These are midrange price wise.
