Need custom front sight Ruger Blackhawk
« on: March 10, 2012, 12:41:28 PM »
Hey guys. I have a new Ruger Blackhawk in 45 colt in the new flattop version...stainless steel. Have old eyes & need a fiberoptic added to the front sight...can't find one.  The stainless steel blackhawks have the blue sight set and pinned blade.  Front sight height is .600 (taller than all others...because of mods ordered by Lipseys).... Anyone know of a company/gunsmith that can manufacture a new blue steel front sight with fiberoptic in the blade and set at .600 high?  Would also like the blade to be thinner than current factory sight...too wide for me. Any help would be appreciated. ps...Hi-Viz makes one in plastic but is too low & painted blade just isn't cutting it. Thanks, Scott

Weigand offers a nice front Sight base that works with redhawk and s&w sight inserts.  ;)

does require existing front to be removed and this one soldered on.  Best done with a smith unless you are familiar with soldering on sights.  It will mess up the blueing some and require some touch-up generally.
