Long time board member, first post in this forum, So Hi All!  Went shopping for a pocket pistol yesterday.  Narrowed it down to a Ruger LCP and a Taurus TCP PT738.  Liked the overall feel and empty lock back of the Taurus more, and now it has a new home!  Went out and shot it last night and it gave reasonable accuracy at 25 feet.  It came with a 6 round mag and I noticed right away that it doesn't like the full six very well.  Functioned flawlessly with 5.  Am now looking for an 8 round mag, but having trouble finding one.  Any other owners want to share their experiences?  What say ye...?

I bought one not too far back. I like how it felt in hand, and the trigger was a lot better than comparable models. The only thing I've done to it was to put a bit of white acrylic paint on the sights with a toothpick. It made a huge difference in sight visibility, especially in lower light conditions.
 
I think it's a blast to shoot. I've started reloading with cast bullets for it so I can shoot it a lot more. I've had no problems with my clips, except that the first time I loaded each clip, I had one failure. After that, it's been smooth sailing.
 
Can't say about the extended mags. I've been happy with the 2 that came with mine, so I haven't really looked for them.

My LGS has them new for $199. I am thinking of picking one up but have read alot of bad reviews. Does anyone know if these have been worked out? This would not be my primary carry gun, but a shorts and t-shirt gun to grab when I need to throw in a pocket.

Well, after 110 rounds, I've had no problems.   If I let the slide slam home on the full clip, it loads OK (meaning I pull it back fast and let go instead of holding it back then letting go).  My daughter shot 5 clips yesterday without a hitch and she notoriously limp wrists semi's.  I personally don't care much for the +P ammo in it tho.  I've got to give this one good reviews.  I'll post any problems as they arise.

I like mine a lot. I carry it stoked with Remington hollow points.
Not a single malfunction to date.

I had mine out again this weekend to test some reloads I am developing with cast bullets. 25 rounds of cast, plus another 25 factory and not a single misfire or fail to feed. I'm very confident in the reliability of my 738 so far, and will not hesitate to carry it. The only problem is that I'm tending to shoot low, but that is my fault and should clear up after more shooting time. Even shooting low, I'm still keeping pretty decent groups at 10 to 15 yards.
It's a terrific concealed carry gun!  8)
