pics of 2/3 scale cannons
« on: February 22, 2012, 07:08:30 AM »
I'm wondering if anyone has pics of any 2/3 scale cannon builds.  I'm in the process of choosing a barrel for a build but it's hard to get a feeling for the size from just a pic of the tube on a website.

I've got my eye on the 2/3 scale 6 pounder and the 3/4 scale 3 inch ordnance from Hern.

Great site by the way!  Thanks.

wbradbury,
Welcome to the forum!
Here are some pictures of a carriage I just finished for a customer with a Hern 2/3 scale 1841 six pounder.
I don't have any pictures of the barrel yet as I haven't shipped the carriage to him yet.
I do have a picture of one of my wooden Parrott rifles propped up behind the template I used for his carriage.  It is the same length as the 2/3 scale Hern gun.
At least you can get some idea of scale.
He will send me pictures of the gun mounted when he gets the carriage.
Carriage is 30" long, 17" tall, 23" wide, and weighs 64 lbs.
Let me know if I can help you with your carriage.
