bushing firing pin channel

has anyone here put a bushing in the firing pin channel in order to use a smaller diameter firing pin?  If so please share your technique.

I have considered it but I think it would be a fairly difficult task.  The fireing pin goes through the breach at an angle, so it is not so simple as bushing a bolt gun.  Larry

I agree,

From a engineering stand point, I don't see why it could not be done. When looking from a practile one I can tell you why its NOT done.... COST!!  You can buy a receiver for a bit over 100$  Doing this job is hand fitting, this = TIME and as you know TIME = $$$.  SO its simply too cost prohibitive. UNLESS you have the time and abilities to do it yourself...

I have one where I turned down the last bit of the pin.  Much simpler.

I know of a gunsmith who was doing this. Since many of the SB1 frames come with a larger diameter firing pin, he soon realized someone might try a high pressure barrel on that receiver. That stopped his momentum.

Thanks, Dinny

If you don't bush it it will get primer flow. I am with Larry on this one.
