I'm further south of you between Anniston and Gadsden. I've never hunted that far north of here but did work on the Arsenal for awhile back in the '70s.

I'm very fmiliar with all those places, the town I actually live in is Red Bay.

Hello to everyone, Ive been loafing around here for a while just never have posted. I live in Grant, about halfway between Huntsville and Guntersville.

I believe I shot cowboy action shooting at a range near Grant if I'm not mistaken. I think that was the name of the nearest decent size town at least. Are you familiar with the range there?

Yep. You were shooting with the North Alabama Regulators at their range in Kennemers Cove. Grant is about 4 miles to the southwest and that is also where the Cathederial Caverens State Park is. I drive through Kennemers Cove everyday.

I've not been back up that way since that day I shot CAS with them. Back at the time we had a couple of members of that club who posted here regularly. One still posts here from time to time but I've not seen the other in a month of Sunday's. Andrew Quigley is the screen name of one who still posts infrequently. Holiday was the screen name of the other I've not heard from in way too long. He was a long distance trucker I believe.

ButlerFord45 another member here who is my wife's cousin and his wife drove down from KY to join us for that shoot. It was the first time he and my wife had met even tho they are cousins. They found out they were kin thru this site. Since then we've visited with them in KY. He still posts here from time to time and visits regularly.

Lived and hunted there for years. Also, lived in Waterloo (just north). I now live in Hackleburg. You should try Waterloo for hunting. There is a WMA area in Waterloo and a fair amount of deer. It's hard hunting because it's alot of hills but I loved hunting it.

Hello all, I'am from Pisgah ,up on Sand Mountain in the north east corner of the state . We got lots of deer but we got lots of hunters to go with them, course sometimes that can be a good thing on management hunts .

If you live in Red Bay you should hunt Freedom Hills. Very good bowhunting. Gets little crowded during some of the gun hunts.

Thats what I hear. Been all around em but never hunted em. When this boy of mine gets old enuf I'll be a goin out a lot more.

I grandfather killed a Alabama Record Book deer from there many years ago. I have the mount on my wall. Ruff scored 178! There and some fine deer in this neck of the woods.

I just got back from a business trip in Gadsden. We actually had to go to a new facility in Rainbow City. Beautiful area up there. This morning on the way back home we had a stop in Anniston, or at least Oxford. Had I been alone I'd have done some personal "visiting", but Alas, I was just a rider.

Way back when my dad used to take me hunting up in Franklin County. My momma'a folks are all from the Red Bay area. The routine everytime was the same. We would run down the list of who all we were related to until I had it memorized. Then he would give me a twenty to put in my pocket.

All this so that if we got seperated and I ran across a still I could talk my way into being related to them and then buy a jug.

I live between Hartselle and Moulton, and work as a cop in Lawrence County. Haven't hunted much in years but every season I say I'm gonna go. Just no idea in which direction to point myself!
