(excerpt)
It is possible and likely that Ron Paul will win the Republican nomination and that great contest of ideas will take place. Instead of Americans being forced to choose between two statists of different flavors ("the lesser of two evils"), they will be able to decide between an advocate of statism and an advocate of freedom.

[/size]President Obama is very charismatic and energizes large groups of people with his charm. Congressman Paul, too, energizes large groups of people, but with his relentless pursuit of the truth and his insistence on communicating that truth. These two men will face off and provide America with two different choices for what the future holds. America will have the opportunity to decisively choose which of those paths take. Never in my life have I been able to experience America the way America will look come autumn of 2012 as economic conditions worsen and Americans look to two very different philosophies to explain the cause and correction of the nation’s problems.
The sole purpose of government is to protect your liberty. The Constitution is not to restrict the people, but to restrict government.  Ron Paul

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. - Thomas Jefferson

I love Dr Paul, I voted for him, I support him, but he will not be the nominee. Regardless of whom wins, (and I will still bet Romney), I will also bet that that Obama wins again. Republicans will become apoplectic, they will locate an actual candidate, and they will win in 2016, and most likely 2020. It still will not matter, because life will go on pretty much the same trajectory as it has.

It is VERY optimistic to assume there will be elections in 2016 & 2020 if Obummer wins. I think it is over for America if he wins

Once he's appointed 2 SCOTUS replacements, and controls the AG/DOJ, who/how would anyone complain if he extended his term of office to 8 years? I mean after all, don't want to change coaches half way through the superbowl, right?
Sadly, I think America ... the one we refer to in our minds anyway ... is already over. What we're fighting for is something different than what its become, and hopefully that'll be better. But the America I grew up in is gone as near as I can tell. I like Dr. Paul because under his leadership, we might get to see what America could've been. Definitely would shake things up ... actually voting on issues, using truth ... who would've dreamed!

I'm supporting Ron Paul.

...and I don't even think that Obama is a Mooslim Commie.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

I'd vote for Ron Paul if he got the nomination. However, then we still have the half wit, self serving, arrogant Congress and Senate to deal with. >:(

I think someone is an incorrigible optimist to believe that Ron Paul will win the nomination.  That aside, the current occupant of the White House has to go.  The best scenario would be for him to lose the upcoming election in a landslide.  If he is not defeated, I am inclined to believe that nomosendero might be right.

Obama has not made a secret of his disdain for the Constitution, nor has he shown any qualms about operating in contempt of it.  He has to be removed by the voters, or by whatever means necessary if the election process fails.

Don't you realize when you say disdain for the Constitution by Washington leaders, you would have to list nearly all?Obama is only one of many! There are plenty waiting in the wings in both parties to carry on the agenda. The tired old mantra of anyone is better theory is responsible for this mess in the first place.

Even if he is elected again, you could join the Army of one, on the forum and save the country ;)

We have come to a point where half the people pay no money into the public treasury, and many of them reap some benefit from it in the way of welfare. These people have no reason nor will to vote for a Ron Paul or his like. For fear they will lose the government that is taking care of them. Why would they vote for someone other than Obama or his like, that offer money, health care, and cell phones from the public treasury.

I also believe that America is over. The America that some of us want to return to anyway. Socialism, greed corruption, lying, immorality and entitlement is in, and personal responsibility, hard work, honesty, virtue, humility, and the Constitution are out. God is being removed from America, because the reality of a ruling God topples the central government sand castle. Once we have completed removing God from America, and God lifts his blessings on this country, we will be in a world of hurt.
The government we have will never relinquish any power gained, nor reduce itself in size. It will only continue to grow in both aspects. Unless of coarse its dismantled buy force. I think we are past the point of voting America, back to the real America.
Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants.    Wm. Penn
