Accuracy test.25 cal.LBT airgun bullets
« on: February 24, 2012, 09:17:23 AM »
We shot the .25cal.sumatra 500cc air rifle today, using the 50gr.LBT flat nose airgun bullets 3000psi. fill.Groups at 50yrds.on low&med.power, less than 1in.High power was the best 1/2in.or less."Almost"pure lead,no lube. The sumatra will now perform like the 22lr.out beyond 70+yrds.But gives better penetration.Just playing around,we shot a 2x4 at 50yrds.These bullets shot through on low, med.&high power. As the 22lr.will kill anything, with a well placed shot, this bullet and rifle can put a lot of meat in the freezer.A lot of people in this nation and abroad, cannot own firearms, these weapons can feed&protect them.

I talked to 'subsonic' about performance of this bullet, after he made the posts.  He told me that on high power the bullets gave a definate supersonic crack.  He didn't put anything about velocity because he couldn't chronograph at the time, but for your information, if a bullet makes a supersonic  crack when shot past trees or other objects it is going at least 1150 fps.  Point the same gun skyward in an open area and the sonic crack will not be heard.

When 'subsonic' says this gun and bullet will put a lot of meat in the freezer he isn't kidding.   High velocity long rifle speed with a 40 grain bullet is 1200 fps from a rifle.  The gun/bullet you have just read about will knock an 1800 pound beef to the ground with more athority than a 22 long rifle, which is the standard slaughterhouse knockdown gun for animals up to about that size.

Staggering performance form an air gun, in this old mans opinion.
