I have what started life as a Mk II FV which is basically the same rifle only it came with about the sorriest excuse for a stock that has ever been made. The stock lasted one trip to the range just to see if the rifle was worth working with and it was very good even with that handle.

The rifle delivers groups in the .3" range when I can find a still day with Wolf Match ammo. Winchester Dynapoints have proved to be it's choice for more economically priced ammo giving .4" groups regularly. Super X, CCI, and the much bad mouthed Golden Bullets do almost as well as Dynapoints staying close to the 1/2" mark.

I've seen quite a bit of complaining over on RFC about bad barrels and poor crowns. I would probably check a new purchase closely because of that. Savage seems to take care of these problems without any fuss.

The action is smooth on mine. The mag holds 5 rounds.

I have a markII fvxp, same barrel as a tr. It is the most accurate gun ive owned, with just cci standard velocity i get match level results. Its been extremely reliable, no issues at all so far. It was fairly stiff for the first 200 or so rounds, but now i can cycle it very fast. It feeds everything ive thrown at it, from the above mentioned cci to aguila super colibri .. cci cb rounds and aguila 60 grain sniper subsonics. All will feed as fast as you can work the bolt.

I forgot to say that the accuracy results are at 50 yards.

I recommend you replace that thin bottom metal so you can torque the screws to 20 in/lbs.

From looking at your picture I would say that the scope is a Chineese fake scope. It may not be, but I have alot of Leupolds and have seen alot more, but never seen one that looked like the one in the picture.

Shot mine tonight with Wolf Match Target. At 100 yards I had several 3/4" groups with a 1.5" flyer.
