They're a bit pricey, most dealers will stock less expensive models. I bought a used P226 for around $450. Worth every penny. Reliability,  ergonomics, smoothness and accuracy that can't be beat. I've own/owned just about every major brand, and the P226 is my favorite. I have a Glock 20-10mm that I like, a HK USP 6" Elite that's incredibly accurate(from the bench), but the P226 is the most shootable. Ask your local dealer about prices, or look at gunbroker.com for a used one. I've seen some nice ones there recently w/high caps. My P226 was well used with most of the blueing worn off the barrel, but it shoots great!
