cast in the 45 70 Handi
« on: March 07, 2012, 01:40:21 PM »
I just got a 45-70 barrel in a swap. I cast up some 330 grain FRN from a Lyman mold. Anyway I used a trapdoor load from the Lyman Book. 43 grains of 3031. The thing is great. It seems to kick pretty good also. Any suggestions on something that would kick a little less. I willing to buy any mold I need. I may even try black powder. But for has light as this gun is I'd like the recoil to be a little less. At least for summer shooting. Any Thoughts ?  Mike
