scope mount for Camera or camcorder
« on: February 09, 2004, 02:07:29 PM »
Maybe you folks on this forum can help me, looking to record a few hunts with a scope mounted Camcorder.... like something they use in the "Verminator" series videos. "calling all coyotes and predator or Prey" they have some sort of mount that attaches to the scope tube then the camera or Camcorder screws on to a standard tripod type threaded base.

any ideas

The weight of a video camera could play havoc on a scope with that weight mounted above it.

If you want to do it i dont think it would be hard. If you brought a set or had a spare set of scope rings laying around you could mount them upside on your scope. Ontop of these you could use a peice of Steel thread some holes in this in the correct place to screw through your mount into the steel to hold it on.

Now if someone else is able to tell you what the threat type is on your camera you could head down to your local hardware store and buy a bolt in this thread . Drill a hole in the steel then use your bolt up from the scope side of the steel into the camera to mount it.

This is just a thought im sure you could refine it heaps and make something that would do exactly what you want.
