Curious to see everyone's favorite, and how many 44 mag shooters are on here. I voted for the Deerfield. I bought mine new in 2001 and it wears a Bushnell 1.75-4x32 Dusk and Dawn. It loves a max charge of H110 under a Hornady 240gr XTP.

I picked the 96/44 for two reasons.
1. I've got one.
2. It's the slickest lever gun I've owned.
 
I use H110 under 240gr. XTP's too and all my 44's are great shooters. ;)

I like the early 44 Carbines. I have early carbine and a  factory checked Fingergroove. They both are great shooters. Mine like H-110 & 296 powders under Hornady 240gr XTP.
 
Would like a nice original early International ( mannlicher ) to complete a matching 3 early 44 Carbines.
Still checking all the gun shows for the one I want at a good price.
 
This would be a nice addition to match my early Ruger 22 carbines. I have the Carbine, Fingergroove & International. All are mid 60's.

none of the above. Make mine a winchester trapper. Ive yet to find a ruger that shot cast bullets well and im not about to buy jacketed 44 bullets.

Good point Lloyd. Don't plink with my 44 carbine, if it shot cast bullets I probably would. Only use my carbine for venison.

I like the old tube fed 44 magnum semi-auto carbine. IIRC mine was made in the late 60's. I used to have the later model Deerfield (detachable magazine) but I did not like the muzzle-light feel to it, though it was very reliable. My Ruger likes the Winchester 250 gr Partition round. Since these are no longer made, once my supply runs out, I'll have to try some others. Luckily, there seems to be alot of different types of factory 44 mag ammo available.

Just thought I would throw the Ruger No. 1 in to the mix.  Here is my rebarreled No. 1 in 44 Magnum.  I plan to rechamber to 445 SuperMag later this summer.
