Found my missing pistols
« on: March 16, 2012, 09:42:16 AM »
For the last few weeks I have been carrying a small .32 pocket pistol.  I have been attending Game Board meetings and inside a lot where it was too warm to wear a vest or coat.  I went looking for my leather shoulder holster Wednesday, could not find it anywhere it should have been.  Also missing was my Ruger P-85, my H&R .38, and S&W .357, along with my nylon shoulder holster.  I spent most of the day cleaning guns out of my and the wife's vault yesterday.  After dinner I decided to get the last ones out of the kids vault in his room.  I asked for his keys, (he can use a combo or a key, we have all forgot his combo) he said they were under his bed, in the lock box.  I went upstairs and reached for the lock box.  Out came my two shoulder holsters, complete with my Ruger and H&R pistols.  I took them back down stairs and asked why my guns were under his bed.  His excuse was that his holsters were getting too tight, due to his growing muscles.  He is a body builder and getting big.  My holsters fit him well with out any adjustments.  Also he likes to carry different guns on occasion.  I jumped in his case, chewing him good.  I asked where my .357 was.  He got a strange look on his face and looked at his Mom.  She said his name and just looked at him.

He looked at his Mom and said "No Mom, your not going to lay the blame on that one on me".  "Dad, Mom took it"!  "She broke it, and it's at Dougs getting fixed".  Seems the Wife decided not to carry one of her many Rugers, (the woman has this thing for Ruger .357s) she decided to carry my S&W .357 when they went up to Chena Hot Springs.  It's a long way out there 70 to 80 miles through lots of Boreal Forest and nothing else.  Don't know what she did to it, she won't admit to anything.  Just that Doug will fix it good as new.  Yea, right.  With her I'm fighting a loosing battle, after 36 years I've learned that.  But I told the kid to adjust his own holsters, leave mine alone.  I don't want to catch him using mine again with out my permission period.  We'll see how that works.

That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Although no one messes with my guns, a while back when I had some extra money, I went thru a buying spree on good local FTF deals. I had pistols hid everywhere around the house and forgot about some of them. Would be rambling thru a closet and find a box I didn't remember, open it and say " Wow, I forgot I had that. " Kinda like finding a really cool Easter egg I hid from myself.

When my son was little we kept horses, 3wheelers & dirt bikes and lots of amo. He was free to use it all. I thought it was a good way to keep him out of trouble.
Wish I had him back so he could shoot up my amo & borrow my guns, take my horse when I wanted to ride her. You see he was killed in a traffic accident 19 years ago when ho was 19.

Think about that next time you complain about your son.

I have never had the problem of anyone moving or doing anything with my guns unless they had my permission.  The only exception was when my son put a couple of guns in a safe when I was hospitalized unexpectedly.

Even as kids, my children were taught never to touch a gun unless I gave permission, I could leave a gun on the coffee table and it would be in the same place three days later when I came back for it, the wife would dust around it if she were cleaning house.  This was a a hard fast rule and part of their training on firearms safety.

Trust me! Sourdough is crazy about his son. He talks about him all the time favorably on the forum.
