In a speech yesterday, Obama accused the Republicans of being founding members of the "Flat Earth Society".. around the time of Columbus. He also said pres Rutherford B Hayes didn't like the telephone and opined that nobody would use it. The curator of the Rutherford b. Hayes museum says pres Hayes never said any such thing. Just how "authoritive' are any of his statements ?
He was not near so clever as he thought he was...
Rutherford B Hayes was the first president to have telephones installed in the White House..and was pleased to use them regularly.
