Perfect Dipping Weather(But really hot --Beaver Trapping)

 Now if my 330s neededdipping,this weather would be perfect. I don't want it this warm,ice will go out and I have to many other thigs to do.
 I was hoping for another month to get caught up on eveything before I started on spring beaver.

I'm up here in Lee's neck of the woods (Wausau) and it looks like what little ice that is left is not going to be around long. I sure wouldn't try walking on it.

 Just got a beaver call here,guy said the ice had pulled 4 feet away from shore.Now I have to go out and buy a new trapping and small game licenses.
 I guess I will take a look at it tomorrow.

   Tom  we had close to 80 today and ice is GONE!.  Bvr ponds in thick woods have ice but melted around edges,  depending on where  you go some rivers are just rising and some are dropping.   Had WTA  board meeting today and  general meeting so couldnt set traps.   Sunday will though....  ticks are out also...  nothing like setting bvr traps in shorts and  t shirt.. Dont really need  rubber gloves either.... go figure!

Got 5 sets in tonight on a beaver job,almost half the lake was ice free. The beaver are living in the connecting lake,but I expect results in the morning.

Tom your scale is off that   big male weighed 64  #s..   Credit where credit is due, besides by time you got him to the truck you thought he was 75#s....

 The older we get--the heavier the beaver.
 The  further we are from the vehicle--the heavier the beaver.

 Just got back from checking my little beaver job.Winds finally died down after the thunder storm last night,so a couple beaver were moving,another one around 60 pounds and the other about 50.Sure wish it was about 25 degrees cooler.

 Pair of nice 2 year olds today,this little line isn't bad.Only problem is--its close to home and I am not used to checking all my traps in 2 minutes.Think I will keep these traps in a couple more days,then head to where I can put up a few larger numbers.

 Pulled the mini beaver line today.Now its time to head where I may be able to put up some numbers.
 Got 8 off that little line,so I at least got sharpened up a bit.It was in the 30s this morning,and I was dressed for the 60's(no not the deade),so I need to dig out some warmer trapping clothes.

Beaver are still looking real good to the north.Only problem--the bottoms of the lakes and ponds are still frozen,makes it work to get in stakes and stabilizers.
