Hanger Bar Not Needed
« on: March 19, 2012, 03:22:05 PM »
I was under the impression a hanger bar was needed for a Pachmayr fore end. I've read and heard this numerous times. Today I recieved my new Pachmayr grip and fore end set for my G2 Contender frame and it bolts right up to the barrel......nothing else needed? ??? ??
I now have a hanger bar I've bought and don't need.

Pachy's for G-2 and Encores do not use hanger bars.  Pachy's for Contenders use hanger bars.

That hanger bar is quite popular around here and you shouldn't have any trouble unloading them.  I have no idea how many I have but it's a lot......have one on most of my barrels.  That way, all I have to do is pop the barrel on a frame, slip on the Pachy forend, tighten one screw without being concerned about torque since it's only going into the hanger bar and BINGO...I'm ready to shoot!! ;D 8) ;D

or you could sell your G2 fore-end and get an older style one to go with your hanger bars. That's what I've done with my G2, Just didn't like the looks of the newer style.

I just got a new set of Pachmayrs in for my G2 and really like the look and feel of them, seems very solid and durable and should help with recoil with the 44 Mag barrel.
I placed an ad here on the classifieds and the hanger bars sold very quickly.

This getting frustrating........I've now ordered two Pachmayr fore ends for my G2, one does not need the hangar bar and one does? One has the swivel stud and the other doesn't.

give Lyman a call..maybe they will send you a hanger bar..explain your frustration to them.
