I use my Lyman 44 mag dies for 44 special, 44 mag and 445 super mag. I have the set with the carbide sizer. Over all lenth of case is 1.610, max cartrige overall length ( col) loaded is going to depend on the handgun it is shot from although it is listed as 1.925 in the manuals.  I shoot this caliber for deer in a 12" tompson conteder it absolutely loves the 300 gr siera flat point.

I use Redding TIN dies. The carbide die is cut deep enough for the extra lenght. And the other 2, I adjust out. Not sure how your going to load it, but for the crimp die, I have had good luck with the Redding profile crimp die holding the bullet in place with the recoil that it has. gypsyman
We keep trying peace, it usually doesn't work!!Remember(12/7/41)(9/11/01) gypsyman

What is the twist in the handi rifle? Just some general knowledge I've picked up over the years loading this caliber. Starline makes the best brass I've found. Much to my surprise W296 and H'110 are the same powders still don't get why one is allways about half a grain more max than the other. Both these powders are my stable in 445. 240 gr bulets and heavier are the mainstay of this calibers diet. Don't use hollow points on deer (they make a mess). 180 gr bullets actually seperate from their jacket and make two holes in the target (not ment for over 2000 ft per sec). It is very time consumeing makeing this cartrige from 30-40 craig cases (that's a story in its own). In the case of a handgun warn people who want to shoot it not to lose hold of your gun, and never put there elbows on the bench when they touch a round off. Useing the formula for free recoil in a contender with a 12" barrel figureing weight and bullet energy it comes to 43 lbs of free recoil. Thats a real palm bruiser so I bought a pacmar decelerator grip and forend. If you practice as much as I do use 44 special or 44 mag with light loads to enjoy. Allways clean the build up ring out of your chamber after fireing these shorter cases. Some of these are comical when I look back on the learning curve I went through. Hope they help you some on yours.
