My wife's .357 Mag. Baby
« on: March 22, 2012, 12:23:52 PM »
Well, I got a shorty barrel from Dave here and really wanted a companion rifle for my wife's Pink Lady.  I've given her the artistic license on the stock.  I'm sure it's gonna have some pink accoutrements soon.  hehe  Thing hasn't been shot a lot yet, but with my .38 special loads, all went almost 1 hole at 25 yards.  Been too sloppy here to get it out at further distances, but I did hit a fist sized rock at 50 yard first pop.  I moved the little Leapers 4x32 Bug Buster Mildot from the .223 BC to this one.  Much better fit and she's really having fun so far.  8)  It's got a 16.25" barrel and a youth stock and forearm I picked up from Midway for $50.

That's a nice little rifle  She's going to enjoy it.  I'm gonna show it to Patty and see if she wants to do that with hers.  It's a standard 22 inch synthetic reamed to maxi.  Mines a 16.5 inch maxi on a BC carbine stock set.  Why don't you get on the reamer list and do it for her?  It'd just give her something more to play with.

I've picked up some .357 Mag brass (free from buddy) and we're going to test with that first.  She's about as recoil sensitive as they come and with her .38 specials, even the higher pressure defensive loads I loaded up with Unique, she didn't have a single complaint.  That was when we still had the BC wood on it.  Now I cannot wait to get more loaded and take her out with it.  ;)  I'm going to do some H110 defensive loads to try in her Pink Lady revolver and this also.  It would produce a much more potent round.  I think even full house .357's will likely be more than she wants though.  hehe  She hit every target at 25 yards though this round, so we're going to try out the shooting tree next session.  ;)  She really prefers reactionary targets.
