reaming my 357 mag
« on: March 25, 2012, 01:14:17 PM »
I  have just reamed my 357 mag to max but I have a question or concern.  The reamer appears to lack about 1/16" reaching the lip of the existing chamber but does not seem to be cutting any more.  The sample shell sent with the reamer will fit in the new chamber.  Is this sufficient or do I need to but more pressure on the reamer.  I don't have a loaded 357 Max shell to see if it will chamber.

Since is the first chamber I have tried to ream I need some expert advice from you guys.

Thanks,
Jack

It may be a hard spot in the barrel, they're common, go ahead and seat a bullet in the included brass and see how it fits, more than likely you'll have to ream it until the rim cutter touches the existing rim, or almost touching if it's already on the deep side.
