That is good news .
But I wished they had done this while Ruger Etc, still chambered the round in a bolt . I just might have made the differance between buying a bolt action 358 W and something else you could buy factory Ammo for .

I have to agree. It is nice that Hornady came out with some affordable ammunition for the .358 Winchester but it is a little late. But who knows it might help the resurgence of the .358 Winchester.

Now if they would also include the 225 gr.bullet which seems to be the go to bullet for black bear by reloaders, here in Central Ontario Canada .
Winchester offers the 200 Gr. and now Hornady .If Hornady loaded the Leverevolution with the heavier bullet as they have with the 338 F. , we might get a new smile from the 35 Cal crowd . 8) 8)

Could it be that Hornady is in the "Know" of something coming up. ;)
For my Dime I would have preferred the 250 gr RN as an option over the Win. load

A few of the guys on the H&R forum here, myself included, have reamed .35 Rem. and .357 Handis to .356/.358.  It's a simple job, and the single shot rifles handle both well.  I even found a guy in France with a .356/.358 Ruger #1.  Perhaps the single shot conversions will give new life to the calibers.

Those Grice micros are sweet , but the .358 will remain a handloaders cartridge ! I can't see where a second 200 Gr. factory load does anything for it . I shoot 220s and 225s out of mine . I shoot 200s in my .35 Rem. though .

So your handi will shoot both .356 and .358 ?  Or is it .356 in the .357 conversions and .358s in the .35 Rem. conversion  ?

The Handis, both .35 and .357 were reamed with the .356 reamer from 4D, doing a rim cut.  The extractors were modified to accept both rimmed and rimless.  They shoot .356 and .358 interchangeably; the .356 head spacing on the rim and the .358 on the shoulder.

Some of the Handi guys are doing the same conversion with other calibers within the .308 family.  .307/.308, 7mm-08/7mm-07, etc.
