New to me AK 47

I just acquired an AK 47  SAR-1  7.62X39...it has the (welded) wire folding stock.. There are lots of accessories for these things.. It's a blast to shoot.

The wire stock may hinder you a bit: but there are a lot of reports coming out that this is a solid 2" at 100 yard rifle with optics and golden bear ammo. Why a welded stock? For State compliance? They have 6 US parts so can be a folder if legal where you live.

The welded folder was back in the Clinton years when a ban was on the folding stock. I'm looking at different stock options, you can dress these up real nice..I'll post more pics when I do.

Okay, gotcha. Mine has a wood stock. The ones I have seen like yours had working folders in the gun shop. Most likely swapped out by a previous owner. I do have one with an under folder but it is an sar 2. Never had one of those wire folders like you posted. BTW does yours have a scope rail on the side?
