I reload my Ruger No.1 9.3x74R.  It has never fired factory ammo.  It works great on wild hogs.

It's a great classic caliber. It does have its draw backs....

Odd sized bullets and expensive brass.

Closest replacement would be our own 35 Whelen. But heavier than 259 g bullets are not readily Avalible. Barnes makes a 300. And the main bullet for the 9.3 is a 286g.

I don't load for it but a buddy has a drilling fetish and uses a 12 ga. x 12 ga. x 9.3x74R for white tailed deer.

Brass is about $1.50 each but there are a bunch of choices in bullets.  The 250 grain Barnes TSX FB and TTSX BT are good CPX 2-3 bullets for thin skinned game.  If I were hunting thick skinned or dangerous game I'd likely reach for a 286 grain load.  That will kill anything on legs right quick.

If you decide you don't want to load for it I'll pay for the shipping if you send the rifle to me....
