They aren't rare at all, they were made for many years, but H&R has never made an all stainless 243, barrel is stainless, frame is matte nickel, the only all stainless rifle they  ever made were the Ultra Hunter 45-70 and 444 Marlin. They've made the matte nickel framed stainless barreled rifles in 22 Hornet, 223, 22-250, 243, 270 and 30-06 as well as the Huntsman and Sidekick muzzleloaders. All stainless models have been discontinued for 2012.  :-\

That would be considered a rare one..... or a painted Survivor barrel!  ;D

You can browse or search the H&R classifieds and see what they've sold for before, we don't delete ads after they sell so folks can do price checks.

It was a n.i.b. SS/ synthetic gun. I kind of wanted it to match my SS/BB .223 and SS/BB .22-250. I rally wish I would have laid out the $300. I have seen SS/BB .243's  but never a .308. A set of 4 would have been cool. My SS .243 is just a std barrel, but I have seen several on GB.
