You will be very pleased with the savage I bought one for my son it seems to shoot a tighter group then my ruger 77/17 at 100 yards best group is 4out 5 in a 1 inch group

Tigit,
I just sighted in my Savage .17 HMR this past Saturday and found it to be a real pleasure to shoot.  I topped the gun with a Nikon 6.5-20 x 44 and it's a great combination.  I zero'd it in at 100 yards shooting the CCI Hollow Points I got at Wal Mart.  
After the pressure of getting it on paper and grouped where I was aiming, we were able to consistantly hit a golf ball at 100 yards.  My 10 year old was even shooting spent shotgun shells off a block of wood at 100 yards!  This a really nice rifle and I look forward to trying some different ammo next time I'm back at the range.
