RP is a RINO. he called himself a republican to get elected, but he's really libertarian. at least santorum would try to rescue, in Jesus words, the least of these. this man is not presidential.
And if you want a theologian and chief , not a commander and Chief - and are comfortable with that you should vote for Santorum. Just remember go in eyes wide open . You get his Catholic doctrine, and his Catholic doctrine only . His way or the Highway. He does not care what other denomination think.
People don't seem to understand the difference nowadays between being a Republican and being
a conservative. Ron Paul is the most constitutional conservative candidate in reality not just rhetoric.
I have no argument with you RP is a Libertarian if that label makes you feel better.
However he is a
conservative Libertarian.
So if you just want to feel comfortable with The warm fuzzies and need that representative R designation- vote Santorum.
however, if want a true constitutional conservative Ron Paul is the candidate in my opinion whether there is an "R"or and "I" or any other designation makes no difference.
It comes down to what values does each candidate hold that are most important to me personally as an individual -
You answer that , then you know which way to vote.
The republican party has been so hijacked by the extremist right wing of the Party I don't even
recognize the party I grew up with. Today even Ronald Reagan would not pass muster with the
republican extremist imposed Litmus test.
I hope folks are not just basing decisions on drive by media points but actually going to each candidates websites , reading what each candidate stands for, their proposals , what bills they endorse , what changes they propose and where applicable , look at each candidates true voting records. Then cast your vote based on an informed position.
As for me I'll stick with RP.
