.243 BLR to .308

Can I change the barrel on my .243 blr to .308. Are there any other mods. to make.

Yes you can re-barrel a steel frame BLR in 243 to 308. You need no other mods.  ;) The trick is finding a gunsmith to do it for you. Seems not many want to work on them.

If you were going to do that I would go with a 358win barrel.

By the time you get a barrel and then have someone fit and finish it. It'ld be cheaper to keep the 243 as is and just buy a decent used 308.

I think Mid West Gun has new barrels for them, I was looking for a pre'81mag and noticed barrels, another option is reboring/rerifling, I sometimes wish my 308 was a 243
