They're pretty pricey. Only for the elite with bucks to burn. Somehow I think if obummer wanted to get in he'd use some high explosives and all the security would be for naught.

There are several of the old missle silos near here, several years ago you could but them for peanuts.  One has been converted to a training facility for divers, others have been converted to nice homes.  Recently there was an article on one of them in the local newapaper, the owner said heating and cooling cost next to nothing and it didn't cost much more to convert than than having a good storm shelter built.
 
I thought it was kind of silly at the time but today I wish I had taken a closer look.

The government used all kinds of nasty asbestos and pcb's during the construction of these things.
I think that cleanup would be a real booger and expensive to boot!

There were several of these silos built along the lower Pecos river. They were decommissioned many years ago. Two or three were purchased and converted into homes and then given up on. Some more than once. I think they are all abandoned now.
