lace-up leather cartridge holder
« on: April 12, 2012, 02:10:13 PM »
Anyone seen one of these?  Been looking for one for my Handi in .223 'cuz i'm tired of the neoprine or however you spell it. (i'm dyslexic, bear with me)  I'm new to GBO but i've had my Handi (Ulga) for about a year/ year 1/2.  I reload and hate picking my brass off the ground because the dadgum shell holder I got now won't hold the brass.

Also, how do ya'll deal with the wieght of these rifles?  I'm 17 and my muscles haven't quite caught up with my bones yet (late bloomer) and it's real hard trying to hold that thing up an' aim at the same time.

The Allen No. 206 butt stock cartridge holder is elastic, not neoprene.  It holds 9 loaded or empty .223s just fine.  They won't fall out.  The link below is for them on ebay now.  It sounds to me your .223 is a bull barrel, probably on a wood stock.  You might want to think about a synthetic stock or a super light or standard contour barrel.  Good luck,

Pete

RPRNY, Thanks!  That's just what i've been looking for.  I really like that classic look- I might even get one for my 336 and pardner too!

petemi, Funny thing is it's just the base model, at least I think it is.  End of the tube is .660" by my caliper.  And yes, it does have a wood stock (it was cheaper and I like it)  though I find it very soft and easy to scratch...

On a bench I can shoot the primers out of shotshells 2for3 at 50yds with cheap rem. fmj's, but I can't hold it up steady because of the weight.  The irony here is that my last name's Armstrong!

Thanks, guys

WOW, maybe not!  Looks like good quality but I might have to sell off everything I own to get it!  Still it might be worth saving up for, better yet....  MOM!  You love me, right? lol
