First I want to say hi Im new to this forum. My question is do you think the the 65SS4 would be a good sidearm to carry while backpacking in the mountains of Co. Looks like a very nice handgun and I have hered alot of good things about Taurus revolvers. Thanks

Looks like a good, servicealbe .357--similar in concept to my Stainless Ruger Police Service Six. You might also want to consider the Tracker series of revolver. It would give you the benefit of lighter weight and adjustable sights.

jphelps..welcome...
I think Mainer brings up a couple of good points, and I would add that if you are going to be in bear country, a 44 mag is the smallest gun I would consider, but if the 357 is all you have, then by all means take it.....

I love my tracker , it is a 45lc 4in. I carry it just about everywere i go , with a 255 gr. hard cast bullet i feel safe in bear country or on the street
