NIB 16 ga Pardner
« on: April 17, 2012, 01:57:00 PM »
About 30 years ago, I borrowed an older 16ga single shot, not sure if it was a NEF/H&R or not, killed a crow, a couple of wood ducks and some squirrels.  The gun's rightful owner saw how attached I was becoming to "his" gun and demanded it back. :o  Just don't understand some folks. ::)  Fast forward 3 decades and a NIB old stock 16ga Pardner with 2.75" chamber, 27.5" fixed FC shows up on the big auction site.  It will be at my FFL next week. ;D    PW Schnabel stock set, 1996 vintage.   Okay now that I bought it I will ask the question I should have asked before I bid on this scattergun.  Any thoughts on the effectiveness of this gun shooting trap?  I am not an accomplished trap shooter, maybe 10 rounds to my credit.  I have a really nice Italian Autoloader for trap but my friend's 14 year son will mow my grass for free if I take him to shoot trap once a week with "his" Beretta, so I really need this 16 to work for me.  ;)

Haven't take the 16 to the trap range, but I've done a break action 12.  I hit as many or more as the guys with the auto's and pumps typically.  Only one or two better.  I keep one shell in my left hand, shoot the first one quick, pop action, reload and fire second far.  I am about 80% doing it this way.  ;)
