  Looking closely at the picture, it appears as if the crimp grooves are the 2 wider grooves closer to the bullet tip. The grease grooves are the narrower 2-3 grooves closer to the base. The tumble lube fills all the grooves and that's fine. I just wiped the loaded round mostly clean of any lube after the bullet has been crimped in place.

But...that still doesn't explain why you can't reach that length. I would imagine that he would publish data and drawings very close to the same SAAMI specs the reamer maker used.
