Glock mtches are a lot of fun and are geared toward the folks who do not compete. Normally there are three different stages or courses of fire (falling plates, 5 to Glock, and Glock M) all begin in the low ready position, no drawing from the holster and no rapid reloading. If you bought a new Glock today, and about 150 rounds of ammo, you would have all you need to compete in a match . Go to the GSSF web site to read the rules, see the classes or division of shooters and firearms, and other information such as joining GSSF, match dates and locations, match registration, match results, etc. Shooting the G-34/35 would limit you to competing in only the competion division.
Good luck and welcome to the addiction.
