(AP) — A Michigan woman who continued to get food stamps after winning a $1 million lottery jackpot has been charged with welfare fraud.      The Michigan attorney general's office announced two felony charges Tuesday against 25-year-old Amanda Clayton of Lincoln Park. She was arrested Monday and was expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Lincoln Park's 25th District Court. The charges are punishable by up to four years in prison.
Clayton chose a $700,000 lump sum, before taxes, last fall after winning the jackpot on "Make Me Rich!" a Michigan lottery game show.
The case came to light last month. She told Detroit TV station WDIV at the time that she thought it might have been OK to keep using food stamps because she wasn't working.
She was dropped from the food program.

Not to highjack but here is another one from the stupid people category. The mother an aunt leave 2 kids alone at the house to give somebody a ride. While they are gone the house goes up in flames and kills the kids. Watch to the end of the video. Auntie is upset because her purse that contained her food stamp card burned up.

I just have a hard time believing that there are people out there that think the government owes them a living. Both of those women make me sick to my stomach and very angry!!! Welfare was never meant to be a way of life like so many people have made it. Dale

If they have money for the lottery then they don't need public assistance. Useing public assistance money for the lotto should be fraud aswell. Like normal nothing will be come of it.
