So I Finally Got My New CMP M1 Garand To The Range
« on: April 01, 2012, 07:09:15 PM »
So just before the latest CMP price increase I decided to get that service grade M1 Garand. Got it just about my birthday, then got slapped with I have nasopharyngial cancer. So between CAT scans, MRI's, getting set up do radiation and chemotherapy, etc, I've never gad the chance to shoot it. I had nothing scheduled for today so to the range I went. Loaded in a clip of 8 Greek Surplus and aimed dead on at 50 yards, all shots about 6 O:Clock. Couple of clicks up, I'm killing the X ring. Good fun.

I got a keeper here!

I am about to order me another Grand, I made a bad mistake in selling my pristine NM Springfield to my brother so his son could shoot on a rifle team. The kid shot for about two months then sold the gun for half of what it was worth.  Since I can’t find another NM at a reasonable price I’m thinking of trying one of the “Specials.”  Anybody had any experience with these? I have heard they are totally factory rebuilt to new specifications.

I hope all goes well with your cancer treatment, I recently went through 47 radiation treatments and eight weeks of chemo, darn near killed me but the doctor says I am cancer free at this time.  The cure was bad, the cancer was in the left lung, they burned the right one with the radiation so it’s only about 70 percent effective today….at least I’m still alive.

Attitude is very important in beating any medical problem so stay postive about the cure, it might also be wise to look at some of the natural food remedies to supplement the treatments, they do help according to my doctor and may be the reason for my success, thanks to my wife my diet changed drastically while I was taking the treatments.

I will keep you in my prayers and maybe you can join me soon as a survivor. ;) ;) ;)

That reminds me of my nephew. I gifted him with a Mosin Nagant M44. He later hocked it for 50 bucks. I told him do you know what you could have sold one of those today for? (After Obama got elected and gun prices went UP!)

He's an idiot. Didn't get it from MY side of the family. I always thought his mama's mom was a nut.

I don't know, but it is always a relief when you hit the paper the first time you shoot your M1. Wasn't any cloverleafs, but for a semi auto and my first time shooting it, looked pretty good. I'll bet them holes will get closer together the more I fire it.

Doctors say about a 70% cure rate going through the radiation and the chemo, like I am.
