Fired Shell Casing?
« on: May 09, 2012, 07:46:31 AM »
Do the new FA revolvers come with a fired shell casing? Maryland's rediculous laws require one for any new pistol. Used pistols do not need a casing, but then I wouldn't get the warranty...trade-offs, right?

I have an inquiry into TinCupSports about a listing they have. Anyone dealt with them? I looked online and could not find any reviews of the company, either positive or negative.

Thanks again to all the information provided.

I don't recall any coming with any of the several new FAs that have come to my house. I do not believe they make any attempt to comply with that requirement in the states with that silly requirement.

That might have changed since I got the last one dunno.

Tin Cup (named for Tin Cup Road) is owned by Wayne Baker, the founder of Freedom Arms, and his wife Mariam. You would be satisfied dealing with them.
I never received a fired casing with an FA. I also do not believe FA attempted to submit "free" guns for testing to comply with Maryland's law, and thus could not be sold there, but my info could be out of date.

Thanks gentlemen. I spoke with Wayne yesterday and Freedom Arms offers the service for an additional charge. I love tht they areable to do this to comply with the laws of MD (I believe NY is the only other state that requires this).
Wayne was very pleasant to speak with and I am sure we will be able to work together nicely.

Where does everybody look for FA model 97s for sale? I check the common sites, gunbroker, gunsamerica, gunsinternational. But no luck for what I am looking for.
If anyone happens across a model 97 with a 4 1/4 or 5 inch barrel, 45 LC adjustable sights, let me know.

The second listing 285832258 seems like a decent price with an aux .45 ACP cyl, Octagon Bbl and trigger job.

Thanks Paul,
Second listing is nice, but I checked the seller reviews and 4 "F" out of 30 is a little sketchy for me.
I appreciate the look though.
