Today at the range I had the good fortune to run into someone kind eough to test my .357 loads for me, so I thought I'd post the numbers. The guns were MArlin 1894c and a Taurus Model 65, 4 in barrel.
First up as the Marlin, loaded with cast 158 gr RNFP from Dardas on top of 13.5 gr AA#9 with standad primers. The primer brand excapes me at the moment.
This load gave me an average speed of 1773 FPS.
Next was the revolver. This had the same powder & primers but I used a cast 158 gr SWC sized at .359", also from Dardas. This load gave me and average speed of 1193 FPS.
Hopefully this data will be of use to someone.
