I'm actually glad about that snow storm in the northeast

I hope this means cooler temps for a while. I was getting worried with the earlier warm weather that we'd have a bad storm and tornado season. This might moderate things a bit.  Around here in minnesota we had a mild winter with some early warm weather in March. That started some tornado activity. It has since cooled down here, and there haven't been much tornado signs lately. I think it's a cooler than normal now, with temps in the 40s and 50s. Nights around freezing. Had some snow last week.

wow, I didn't know anyone actually lived in Minnesota.  I thought it was an uninhabited frozen wasteland.

It's inhabited anyway. The state motto is "eventually, we learn". That should tell you a lot. And it's runs neck in neck with the Nebraska state motto of "why nebraska?".
 
It's a good place to live while you're working and raising kids because of the seasons and the variety of terrain and activities. We do lose a lot of time due to inclement weather, being near the center of a continental mass (as is Mongolia).
 
Funny thing is that my town has a statistically impossible mortality rate. Extremely low. Something like .004 per ten thousand. Why? People move away before they die. No kidding.

they move to Florida to die.... seriously, being born and raised in Illinois, I think the hunting and fishing is better in a cold state.  fish and game know that they have to eat heavy before winter, and that makes them more available to catch.
that's my theory anyway......

They FLEE Minnesota to Florida for a couple of years and then figure out that is too DANG hot there then they move to Ashville NC to Trout Fish and Golf until they die.
The Brazillin Rain forrest is in the middle of/is the middle of a continental mass also, like Mongolia but wet. ear
