Getting time to run the Haul Road (Ice Road to you guys)

The Bears are out, saw Grizzly sign this morning on my morning walk.  This is a little guy, looks like about a three year old.  I'm carrying the 25-06 Handi on my walks, I feel confident, if needed, I can put it down with the 25.  I am wanting to run the Haul Road, bigger Bears up that way, north of the Yukon.

Temp was in the 60s today, still unseasonably warm.

Sun up at 5:30, it's light at 4 AM.  Sun sets at 10 PM, does not get dark till about 11:30.  Under my normal routine, I won't see darkness till August.  The sun is up when I get up in the morning, and soed not set till after I go to bed at night.

The Alaska Pipeline runs behind my house.  The back of my property butts up against the pipeline right of way.  That is where I walk the dog.  I can see for a mile or more each way.  There is a power line right of way running parrallel with the oil pipeline.  There is a strip of heavily wooded, and overgrown land in between that wildlife uses for cover. 

So Bears and Wolves run either right of way, where they can duck into cover if needed.  Making my back yard a virtual wildlife highway.  The power line runs on my property.  My property line runs down the middle of that wooded strip.  I sometimes climb a tree in the back and call right in my back yard.  I have five acres back there, most of it wooded.  there is a trail going all the way back to the pipeline. I see everything from Rabbits and Grouse, To Moose and Grizzly back there.  The Rabbits and Grouse are there all the time, the predators are just passing through.
