Let's see, a Glock or one of the 1911 clones from the Philippines--------. If you want a shooter get the Glock. If you want a 1911 clone because it's trendy, get the ACll. If you want a 1911 that's both, invest a few bucks more and get an entry level Kimber, STI, Colt, or midrange Springfield.

Good advice!!

Some years back this trend for the 1911 happened and there was allot of "trash" guns made. Soft frames, soft parts poorly fitted slides and barrels...Then small makers saw the popularity and began making oodles of parts for the 1911. The Kimber made it's first gun... using those parts assembled in GOOD quality frames, slides and barrels. Sold at GOOD prices. Well they made really a good gun and there popularity also rose...along with there prices. Now the 1911 chambered in 22RF is popular and a second (third) coming of the 1911 is happening a number of companies are offering clones most foreign made. there quality still is to be seen, but as machining changes it becomes cheaper and cheaper to make a good product.

If it was me, I would invest in a older quality 1911. BUT, If you also want an investment go good name brand 1911. If you want a good shooter at less $$ go with the Glock. The glock is more "durable" and not a fragile as a tuned 1911. The 1911 will shoot better and if you have smaller hands likely feel better. The Glock WILL always work and will shoot plenty accurate in a larger package.

The new Gen4 G-21SF's have, also, been garnering a very good reputation for themselves, too!
