problem with Burris Z-ring and weaver base
« on: April 30, 2012, 11:50:33 AM »
I  am trying to use a Weaver base on my Contender with Burris' Z-Rings..the one piece design on the z-rings doesn't allow them to fit easily on that mount.  any tricks I don't know about..or would it be better to just ditch the Burris rings and go with Weaver rings?

I use a flat blade screwdriver as a wedge,  gently tap it into the expansion slot on the ring to open it up just enough to slip on the base.

Quick, I thought of that..just was afraid I was going to bugger something up..they look like they would as sturdy as an anvil once in place.

I have about 40 pairs of Zee rings in use, both the Signature and standard, they're excellent rings. The only problem I've ever had was a pair I got that didn't have the expansion slot cut in one of the rings, sent an email pic to Burris, a week later I got a new pair in the mail!  ;)

Zee rings are all that I use, best rings out there for the money in my opinion.

I do have a couple sets of Leupold DD rings and bases, but Zee's are my favorite.
