Oregon Vs. California
« on: April 15, 2012, 02:52:25 PM »
When I moved to Oregon it was shooters heaven for me at first. Instant background checks, sure, why not. But in the past few months people have been getting delayed all over the state for up to 45 days and sometimes more.

First couple purchases I made went through w/out a hitch. But my latest, a very nicely done up Rem. 788 in .308 Win. 18.5, nice recrown, and free floated and glassed all set up to "reach out and touch" and a great price, (you can see why my patience is thinning out) has been on delay for a month now.

I'm supossed to go in tommorow to check on the state police' progress.

The whole point though is that I could have bought a firearm quicker in California of all places.

Back in the 60's when I moved from California to Oregon there was a sign at the state line that Said "Welcome to Oregon. Now go home". Unfortunately a lot of Californians were semi-literate at the best and apparently could not read them big words. The result was that Oregon became the number one destination for California emigrants. They have politically contaminated a once great state so much that is difficult to tell where Kalifornia ends and Oregon begins. In a few more years there won't be much point in having a border between them.
