I was going to purchase a Bushnell Backtrack I found on CR , however before Purchasing I contacted Bushnell and inquired the following.

If you store locations and find you need to change batteries while in
backcountry will memory retain locations logged?

Here was their response:

This unit should indeed retain marked locations for a short time after
battery failure. I hope this is of assistance and that you have a
wonderful day.

Would someone who owns one please validate this is true.  I have read conflicting comments and otherwise on other various websites.  Could the conflict be between various models ? Perhaps I wasn't explicit enough in my original question to Bushnell. Older vs Newer?

The model I was looking at buying was the original unit simular to below.
The CR poster wanted $15.00 as they had upgraded to another.

Working on it.  ;) It worked, still had the two waypoints after removing and reinstalling the batteries, mine looks like the pic except it's orange.
