B and L discoverers 7, 8, or 10X42 for deer?
« on: January 14, 2004, 09:42:14 AM »
Am looking at purchasing the Bausch and Lomb discoverers for deer hunting just wondering what size  7, 8, or 10X42 you guys would prefer?

Which give you the most time at dusk?

Cheers

I bought the B & L Discoverer 7x42mm and have been very happy with them.  They are superb binos for the buck.   I don't care for higher magnification because higher magnification binos are harder to hold steady.

I took Eagle Eye's advice and bought the 7x42s and I'm very pleased with them. I've played around with them on nights with a full moon looking out into the hay field behind my house and I can see well enough to spot deer. I hunt mainly in brushy areas and the wide field of view is a big help.

I have looked through the 7,8, and 10 power discoverers and I like the the sevens the best. They have the longest eyerelief which reduces eye strain which looking through them for a long period of time and they are the brightest of all three.
