Timney Trigger on '98 mauser
« on: May 04, 2012, 04:26:20 PM »
How tough is it to install a Timney trigger on a mil-surp '98 mauser?

I'm fairly good with tools and tinkering, but have never tried this before.

Any help or experience appreciated.

It is literally a bolt on operation. Some actions may require a bit of filing for the trigger blade to clear the bottom metal. If a side safety is included clearance for the safety lever will have to be cut into the stock inlet..and that's likely the most difficult task! The stock may also require clearance if the inletting is especially tight to avoid the trigger making contact.

Its a very simple surgery , I just done one on a 98 my very first , If you go to the Timney website there are detailed instructions , also they have a Techline . There will be instructions with the trigger , a Dremel tool is very helpfull . I had mine installed in less than an hour , that included inleting the stock .
