Berreta Stampedes or Rugers all in 44-40

I just wnet to my first match in january awesome. and after looking at several articles and forums for 3 months trying to decide on a cartridge I ve chosen 44-40. I just bought an interarms 65 in 44-40 I guess its a rossi M-92 it looks great and action is smooth 265$? Rossi is not offering that caliber new are they does anyone know? Im waiting on dies to see how it shoots.  

Doesanyone shoot the new berretas?  

I wonder if they are as rugged and can shoot jacketed loads?  

Also are the actions as readily workable to lighten as the Rugers?

Howdy and welcome!

The 44-40 is a great classic cartridge.  It's a great choice.  Reloading is a bit more challenging and box ammo is a bit more expensive.

As for the Baretta, despite the transfer bar, it is still the old Colt SAA frame.  The Ruger will be more durable and better able to handle hot loads, it's a new design.

As for smooth, that's a matter of opinion, I've got smooth Rugers, smooth Remingtons and smooth Colt replicas.  It's just a matter of time, work and some money.  The Stampede is new enough that not many are out there, but they are based on the Uberti and share most parts, so they should be very similar.
