Encore heavy barrel 223 vs. standard barrel 223?

Is the heavy barrel significantly heavier than the standard barrel? I see that it's a couple of inches longer, but is there a larger diameter too? Thanks.

It is bigger in diameter.  I asked the same question about a .270 factory taper and a custom heavy .270.  Mixed results, if you are going to be on your feet a lot walking I would go with the factory taper.  If it will be a target gun or varmint gun the extra weight will go unnoticed probably.  I still think I will be ordering me a heavy .270 barrel, I just want one!
