30-30 handy

have anybody tried trail boss powder in there 30-30? i have used it in my 45-70 like it less recoil. :)

  I have not, but according to the folks at IMR, you can use between 6.5-9.0 gr with a 160 gr bullet. If you have a different weight in mind I suggest e-mailing IMR, I'm sure they can help you out.
  I have used it in .45-70, .45Colt, .357 mag, .38 spcl, and .500 Woyming Express.
It's great stuff.
 I've loaded 165 gr cast bullets in my .30-30 Handi using various charges of AA 5744. My bullets were sized to .309" but my Handi had Micro-Groove rifling, thus requiring a larger bullet diameter. My accuracy was awful and the leading even more so. Shortly thereafter I found out I didn't need a .30 cal to hunt pigs on AR WMA's anymore, so I sold the barrel.
 There's no doubt that I could've made the gun a shooter with a little tweaking.

Full case to bottom of bullet without compressing is a full charge of trail boss,i do this with my 45-70 and 500 grain bullets

Trail Boss data is easy to calculate following Hodgdon instructions.  ;)
