I'd never make such a suggestion, since I don't know what the Muslim way of life is, specifically. I do know a bit about what Jesus said, and I don't think he wants us to be hating/hateful towards Muslims. It could be I've misunderstood Him, re: how we are to treat our fellow citizens?

Well, since you're askin' - if you're a Christian - and I'm not asking! - then  practice love and put the consideration WWJD before polytics, when deciding on how to treat people.  Remember the Golden Rule when talking about people.

Don't stay too comfortable in political or even religious dogma.

Meet a few Muslims, and get to know them - it's far more productive than venting jingoistic, xenophobic rants & the rants of others. This will take time and effort, and won't come naturally. Here are  a few pointers on how to do this, from the good folks at Intervarsity Christian Fellowship:
