Knight-Original DISC VS New Disc Elite?

My original DISC rifle uses the orange drop in 209 primer discs VS the DISC Elites plug in red disc.   Are there any advantages of this newer style?  My Wolverine 209 uses those same red discs as the Elite, seems to work OK but not really any better than the original orange style.  I'm wondering if converting my original DISC rifle to the red disc would be worth the expense?  Thanks for any and all info, advice you can offer, I'm sorta new to all this ML stuff.

I've got the original Disc, my brother has the Extreme...I've shot both but prefer the original Disc...It's much easier to put the discs in the primer area...His gets stuck and has to pull out the tool to remove it...His might be more water proof but I don't see an advantage...It it's raining that hard, I'll duct tape the receiver, hunt out of a box blind or stay home...

I had a Knight Original Disc and it never let me down.  I did try Blackhorn 209 on the range and had a few hang fires and give the rest of the can away.  I hear you can drill out your BP and Blackhorn will work, but I stuck with Shockeys Gold, 120 grains under a Lightfield 300grain Bullet.  My brother has a newer Knight with the red disc and his also works great.  I don't think you could go wrong with either, but I don't think the red is any better than the orange, just my opinion.  I have since sold my Knight to a guy I work with and he stayed with my set up and has had no problems.  I went smokeless is why I sold it.

On my percussion guns I still continue to use caps for ignition, but in the DISC series I really do prefer the Red FPJ's, the bolt installs them and extracts them... I think they are a bit cleaner than the Orange FPJ's, but you know if you do not shoot your rifle a lot I am not sure it makes any difference.
 
If you were to shoot to BH-209 powder you might find the Red FPJ's to be more consistant than the Orange jackets.

I've used both styles of rifles, original orange disc and red FPJ, over the years and I have to say that both are pretty darn good!  The only reasons to convert an original disc, in my opinion, is for the added waterproof seal and to take advantage of the pre-loaded red discs Knight is finally selling now! 
I've noticed in the older Knight FPJ breech plugs the powder was actually alot closer to the primer than it is in the new ones.  I believe this may cause ignition problems with powders like Blackhorn 209 reguardless of the flash hole diameter.  I called Knight about this and they said they had already been discussing and testing some of the older breech plug designs with Blackhorn to see if this was a possibility.  My guess is that they changed the breech plug design when they added the new hardened vent liners.
